I have collectible plates that my grandparents bought for me many years ago. They are still in their original boxes, and have never been opened, yet there they still sit, in my closet. To this day, I can’t bear to get rid of them, because they were bought for me. It has emotion and sentiment behind them. Some are from the year I was born, to commemorate my first Christmas, while others are collectible plates from The Sound of Music and other movies I liked growing up. They are special to me, and yet, they are taking up space!!

At the same time, I have a dish set that was passed down to me that I use. They are the really heavy ones that can go in the oven, dishwasher (if only I had one!!!), and freezer. They are SOOOOOOO heavy! The pattern  is dated, and I have thought about buying a new set, but I never do, because of the very same reason. Sentiment and emotion.

Some of us save money. We have investments that collect interest, so that when we retire, we have a nest egg all set for us so we can have financial peace in our older years. Or for other emergencies that come up.

There are many things that we save, and many reasons to why we save them. I’ve just touched on a few. What are some things that you save, and why do you save it? I would love to hear what you have to say in the comments!

Thanks for listening to Weekends with Dawn! You make my job that much more fun!
