United in Remembrance

To Honor First Responders, Last Responders, and the Community on the 25th Anniversary of 9/11

Friday, September 11, 2026 | 8:30 AM – 6:00 PM | Outdoor Grounds of CFMS, Toledo, Ohio

Solvita in partnership with Center for Forensic & Medical Services (CFMS) will host United in Remembrance, a free outdoor community event marking the 25th anniversary of 9/11 and recognizing the service of first responders, last responders, veterans, and community members across Northwest Ohio.

This outdoor only event (held rain or shine) will run from 8:30 AM to 6:00 PM and will feature:

• Complimentary refreshments from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM (while supplies last)
• Shaded seating
• Reflection spaces
• A welcoming environment for the public and all responder agencies
• Memory board to write messages, memories, or reflections

Six moments of silence will be observed, marking key events of 9/11 from 8:46 AM to 10:28 AM.

A central feature of the event will be the Voices of Service Recording Booth, where attendees may share short video or audio reflections about:

• Where they were on 9/11
• What service means to them today
• What they hope future generations will remember

These recordings will be compiled into a public YouTube archive titled Voices of Service: 25 Years Later.

“Even though our building is not yet open, our commitment to this community is already strong,” said CFMS leadership. “This event is a simple, meaningful way to honor those who serve and to preserve the voices and memories that continue to shape us 25 years later.”

Solvita will host an informational tent and participate in the recording project, highlighting the connection between emergency response, organ, eye, and tissue donation, and community resilience.

The United in Remembrance event is free and open to all.
