I think you’d be interested in the 8th annual Touch-a-Truck event at Epworth United Methodist Church located at 4855 Central Ave, Toledo, OH. Past events have drawn as many as 3000 visitors to our campus. This year we will be offering two sensory friendly half hour time blocks.
Epworth United Methodist Church, a beacon in the Methodist community since 1894, is hosting Touch-a-Truck in their front parking lot on May 11, 2019 from 10am to 2pm. We will have trucks, motorcycles, emergency vehicles, transportation vehicles, among other common and unusual vehicles. Kids of all ages can climb aboard, honk the horns, and pretend to drive anything that rolls.
Again this year, we will offer Sensory Friendly Event Times from 11am-11:30am and 12:30pm-1pm. These sensory friendly times are designed for those on the autism spectrum & those with sensory processing issues so they can enjoy the event without being overwhelmed by the crowds or disturbed by loud noises including horns and sirens. We will also have free earplugs available throughout the morning.
Throughout the event we will offer free ice cream and popcorn as well as paid concessions.
I’d be happy to coordinate an interview with either myself or another representative of Epworth to discuss the details of the event. Would you be interested in sharing this information with your audience? If you need any further information I can be reached at 419-297-8775.
