“Upwards” a quilt show by Under His Wings Quilting

October 1 – 13 University of Toledo Carlson Library, 2nd Floor. Under His Wings Quilting makes quilts for victims of domestic violence, with the goal to provide a quilt to every victim/child transitioning out of these shelters. UHW is a Christian non-profit, using donated materials to create all of the quilts.

About 30 quilts — vintage, full size, child size — of various patterns will be on display. Accompanying placards will talk about the quilts and the challenge of ending domestic violence. A table near the Starbucks on the 2nd floor will offer material on the Bethany House — a domestic violence shelter in Sylvania. Shelter and UHW representatives will be available Oct. 4th. 3 — 5pm; Oct. 6th 6:30-8:00pm and Oct. 11th 3-5pm. No donations will be collected at this event.

Metered parking is available for visitors in Lot #11 (east of Library) and Lot #13 (west of Library). The meters take cards or change and require a min. of $1.20. Lot #11 is handicapped accessible.

The quilts will be displayed during business hours of the Carlson Library:
Mon-Thurs. 7:30am–12:00am. Fridays 7:30-5:00 Saturday 10am-5pm and Sunday. 1-8pm
