Current Ministry Vision

We’ve been in Toledo since 1966, because we care about you! At Proclaim FM, we’re aiming to provide music and teaching that will change your life forever.

  • There’s more and more bad news in the world it seems, but we’re here to share with you some good news…news about what Jesus has done for us that will make an eternal difference in your life.
  • Our prayer is that we can share Truth that will help you in day to day life, and draw you closer to God.
  • We believe in encouraging one another, and being there for each other.  Any of our team here would be glad to pray with and for you.
  • We’re about more than just saying what we believe.  We believe in showing what we believe in practical ways. Because of that, we’ll be helping you get plugged in to serving the community and letting you know what volunteer opportunities and needs there are in Greater Toledo.

Beliefs and Mission

Our Mission:

Proclaim FM has been called to connect, engage and impact our community by proclaiming the relevant, life-transforming message of hope through Jesus.

Proclaim FM Team

Mark Howington (Morning Show / Music Director)

Mark walked into the Proclaim FM studio one day to install a computer system and returned several weeks later as the Morning Show co‐host! Thirty years ago he began his radio career by spinning records and editing audio using razor blades and adhesive tape. Now he spends his time cracking jokes with Andrea and improving the music mix. Radio holds a special place in Mark’s heart, as it helped him hear the Gospel for the first time in college. When he’s not at the station, you can find Mark bird‐watching, napping, or sailing the Great Lakes. He is married to his wonderful wife (Marilyn) and has two sons (Ben and Tim).

Andrea Lyn (Morning Show)

In high‐school, Andrea won the award for “most talkative,” and not much has changed since then. She loves talking with Mark on the Morning Show and getting to know listeners. When she’s not in the studio, Andrea is spending time with her husband (Josh) and kids (Jet and Liam). They have taught her to rely on God and trust his timing more than anything else. Andrea loves sewing and creating costumes for her sons to wear to Disney World. She also enjoys event‐planning and Pinterest‐worthy parties.

Join Andrea and Mark on weekday mornings from 6am‐10am
for a great music variety and lots of laughs!

Craig Magrum (Middays / General Manager)

Craig launched his radio career at age 16, when a brave General Manager gave him a shot at hosting a show. The best part of his day is when he can connect with listeners and minister to them through prayer. Not only is Craig Proclaim FM’s General Manager, but he is also a licensed Ham Radio operator (NM8W). He has contacts in 80 countries and all 50 states, and loves to experiment with his radio gear in his spare time. Craig married his love (Gayle) in 2001 and has two sons (Eban and Ezekiel). He firmly believes peanut butter should be its own food group.

Join Craig Magrum weekdays from 10am-3pm for your
workday soundtrack and challenging thoughts from God’s Word.

CliffCliff Smithers (Afternoon Drive / Program Director)

After 21 years working in mainstream radio, Cliff joined the Proclaim FM team in March 2012. He began his radio career after sending in a sample tape to a major country station and becoming their Midday Host. His favorite artists include Christian contemporary and country classics like Jeremy Camp, Third Day, Travis Tritt, and Bob Seger. But music isn’t his only interest. Ever since he was old enough to understand the word “baseball,” Cliff has been a diehard Tigers fan! He loves connecting with listeners, giving away prizes, and goofing around with callers. Cliff is married to his wife (Lisa), who completes him perfectly. He has three kids (Stephanie, Courtney, and Kyle) and three grandkids (Connor, Kileigh, and Gabriel), not to mention his two labrador retrievers (Samson and Delilah).

Ed Ryan (Creative Audio Director / Afternoon Drive
Traffic Reports)

Ed is the mastermind behind the station’s seamless audio. Before he joined the team in May 2014, Ed worked with Proclaim FM Afternoon Drive host (Cliff Smithers) for several years at another station (K100). Though Ed specializes in mixing and producing audio, he has previous experience with everything from on‐air announcing to cleaning toilets. Ed always has an observation or a witty remark to share with his friends, and we love his quirky approach to life. His first record was “Who Can it Be Now” by Men at Work, which he bought for less than the price of a cup of coffee ($1.45). Several of Ed’s favorite artists include Family Force 5, Mandisa, and Jamie Grace, to name a few. Ed owns several cats, who run his life more than he would like them to.

Join Cliff and Ed weekdays from 3pm‐7pm for great
music variety and current traffic reports!

Becky Vee (Sunday Morning Praise & Worship)

Becky spent 12 years working in Christian radio before she joined the team at Proclaim FM in 2012. She loves jazz, big band, and praise music when written out of a personal experience. When she’s not hosting Sunday Morning Praise & Worship, Becky is teaching Ebay classes at Owens Community College, flipping houses, and singing worship songs. More than 20 years ago she married her husband (Craig) and now has a terrific son (Dominic), a beautiful step‐daughter (Katrina), and three grandkids (Giana, Trae’shon, and Leilani). Becky lives with her sweet, old dog (Harley) and her mischievous puppy (Sadie).

Join Becky on Sunday mornings from
8am‐12pm for an uplifting worship variety!

Daniel Gerard (Volunteer Weekend Announcer)

Bacon‐lover, Rom com watcher, and radio scriptwriter—Daniel has many hidden talents. He has honed his radio writing and producing skills for over 25 years, and spends his time writing those catchy commercials you just can’t get out of your head. Though his first loves are pop rock classics such as Journey and Boston, he can’t get enough of contemporary Christian bands like NEEDTOBREATHE, MercyMe, and Matthew West. He married his college sweetheart (Tricia) and has a daughter and son (Sam and Jake). He owns an energetic 75‐pound lap dog (Buddy) who is supposed to “calm down” some day. So far no luck.

Join Daniel on Saturday afternoons from
2pm‐7pm and Sundays afternoons from 12pm‐4pm!

Diane Huber (Office Assistant)

Born and raised in Maumee, Diane is a true Buckeyes fan! She gets so absorbed in Ohio State games that she can’t bear to watch them live. Instead, she has to record and watch them later. Diane and her husband (Joe) have two children and two sweet grandchildren who love to visit. She spent more than 40 years as an administrative assistant, and has held down the fort as Proclaim FM’s Office Assistant since July 2014. When she’s out of the office, you can find Diane biking, spending time with family, or gardening up a storm in her backyard.

Stop by the office on weekdays
from 9am‐3pm and visit Diane!

KareyKarey Segler (Business & Facility Manager)

Karey has been counting the beans at Proclaim FM since 2013, but he isn’t new to the team. Before he became the Business & Facility Manager, Karey worked on the Board of Directors for 10 years as the treasurer. He started working in nonprofit accounting in 1992 and has coached basketball at Emmanuel Baptist Christian School for five years. Whether in the classroom, gym, or radio station, Karey has a true teacher’s heart and loves to pour into people’s lives. He married his wife (Jeanne) in 1987 and has a daughter (Kara) who graduated from University of Toledo in 2015. Karey is one of the most selfless and dependable people you will ever meet. He makes sure everyone turns off the lights before they go home.
