Current Ministry Vision

About

We’ve been in Toledo since 1966, because we care about you! At Proclaim FM, we’re aiming to provide music and teaching that will change your life forever.

  • There’s more and more bad news in the world it seems, but we’re here to share with you some good news…news about what Jesus has done for us that will make an eternal difference in your life.
  • Our prayer is that we can share Truth that will help you in day to day life, and draw you closer to God.
  • We believe in encouraging one another, and being there for each other.  Any of our team here would be glad to pray with and for you.
  • We’re about more than just saying what we believe.  We believe in showing what we believe in practical ways. Because of that, we’ll be helping you get plugged in to serving the community and letting you know what volunteer opportunities and needs there are in Greater Toledo.

Beliefs and Mission

Our Mission:

Proclaim FM has been commissioned by Jesus Christ to “go and make disciples of all nations” and to be witnesses of the good news of salvation by Christ alone in Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan. We will accomplish this through sharing culturally relevant, doctrinally sound Bible teaching, music, and the words that our ministry team have to share with our listeners.

About Cliff:
How long have you worked in radio?  I’ve worked in radio for 24 years and have been at Proclaim FM since March of 2012.

What are your favorite Bible teaching programs:  My favorite Bible teaching programs are those by Charles Stanley and Dr. Tony Evans. More people need to listen to Tony Evans.

Favorite music:  I really like all kinds of music but if I had to pick one, I’d have to say it’d be classic country, which brings back fond memories of my dad.

Tell us about your family:  I’ve got three children – Stephanie, Courtney and Kyle and three grandchildren: Conner, Kileigh and Gabriel. I’m thankful for the blessing that they are to my life. Oh, and I also owns a Doberman pinscher named Lexi. Don’t let the breed fool you. He’s just a a big baby.

Favorite movie:  “The Patriot” with Mel Gibson.

Favorite TV Shows:  “Blue Bloods” and “Criminal Minds”. But my all-time favorite shows are “Sanford and Son” and “The Andy Griffith Show”. Classics!

Favorite Foods:  A good hearty steak on the grill or eating out at Mancy’s Steakhouse. By far, it’s my favorite restaurant.

Biggest Pet Peeve:  Be careful how you drive because my biggest peeve is other drivers. Especially near Detroit. My knuckles turn white up there!

About Craig
How long have you worked in radio:  It’s hard to believe I’ve worked in radio for 15 years and have been at Proclaim FM since June of 2012. Time has disappeared!

Tell us about your family:  I’ve been married to the love of my life, Gayle since April of 2001. We met in church, and I proposed to her in front of the altar. Our son Eban is 9 years old, and we’re in the process of adopting again as well. Prayers are appreciated!

What are your favorite Bible teaching programs:  I love Bible teaching on the radio…it’s what really helped my family get saved and discipled. I’d have to say that my favorite Bible teaching program is actually one Proclaim FM doesn’t carry. It’s called “66/40” with Chuck Missler.

Favorite music:  I can listen to almost any style music. Well, maybe other than Country, Opera, and Polka. (The last to my shame, as I’m mostly German.) It depends on what mood I’m in.  I can listen to anything from Keith & Kristyn Getty, to Pillar. Some of my all time favorites:  Phil Keaggy, Petra, and Rez Band.

Something others might not know about you:  I’ve played paintball on an organized Christian tournament team. I’m a Ham Radio Operator (NM8W).  I enjoy shooting rifles, pistol, and will be learning archery soon.

Favorite books:  “The Hobbit” and “The Lord of the Rings” Trilogy. I also recommend “The Five Love Languages” by Dr. Gary Chapman. It’s an amazing book on learning how to speak other people’s love languages and connect to them. Latest book I’ve read that I highly recommend:  “The Circle Maker” by Mark Batterson (Thank you to our very own Mark Howington for suggesting it to me.)

Favorite movies:  “The Hunt for Red October” and “Star Wars Episode 4”. I also enjoys watching TV shows from my childhood like “The A-Team”, “Dukes of Hazard”, “Knight Rider”, “Airwolf”, and of course…who could forget “MacGyver.”

Favorite foods:  Lasagna and Peanut butter, and I believe the latter should be in its own food group.  And Bacon.  Everything is better with Bacon.  (See Dan Gerard’s response to this question as well.)

Pet Peeves: I HATE wet socks.  And elevating opinion to the level of “Thus saith the Lord.”

About Becky
How long have you worked in radio:  I’ve worked in Christian radio for almost 12 years and have been at Proclaim FM since December 2012. I’m loving it all the way!

Tell us about your family:  I have a terrific one of a kind husband, Craig (not Craig Magrum…just so we’re clear!) of 22 years, a beautiful step daughter, Katrina through whom I have three very beautiful grandchildren, Giana (9), Trae’ shon (3) and Leilani (8 months) and my very terrific son, Dominic who is 11. I also have a Shepherd/Boxer mix named Harley and two mischievous Rabbits. One of those rabbits is one I adopted from the Toledo Area Humane Society that brought it in during the morning show. Yes. I caved.

What are your favorite Bible teaching programs:  I enjoy the teachings of Joyce Myers, as well as Mark Chironna.

Favorite music:  I love all kinds of music, especially praise and worship when written out of a worship experience or message, along with good Jazz and big band music.

Something others might not know about you:  Some people might not know, but I teach Ebay classes at Owens, and have a lot of fun with it!

Favorite books:  I have a lot of favorite books, but I especially enjoy mysteries, and of course, my Bible.

Favorite movies:  “Seems like Old Times”, The Indiana Jones Movies, The Star Wars movies and The Jurassic Park movies;

Favorite TV Shows:  “ALF” and the current Disney stuff (Hey…I’m a mom.)

Favorite foods:  I love a good steak and mashed potatoes and unfortunately anything with sugar in it.

Pet Peeves:  I dislike it when people talk during a movie or television show I’m trying to watch. Especially if it’s football!

Daniel Gerard

Weekend Announcer

Catch Daniel on the weekends, playing the best in today’s Christian music that is uplifting and encouraging.

Saturday:  4:30pm – 8pmSunday:  11:00am – 1:00pm

About Dan

Favorite Foods: Bacon. Just about everything is better with bacon.

Favorite Music: It’s amazing how musical tastes evolve. In high school/college it was pop rock (Journey, Boston), then a country phase (Garth Brooks, Randy Travis) which coincided with my wife working at a country music station. Then the Lord finally gotta hold of my ears and nowadays I can’t get enough of NEEDTOBREATHE, MercyMe, Matthew West, and so many others.

Favorite Bible Teaching Program: Haven Today with Charles Morris

How long have you been in radio: on air about 5 years, but I’ve been writing/producing radio commercials for more than 25. I’ve been at Proclaim FM since February 2014

Biggest Pet Peeve: People in a hurry, especially when they’re driving on slippery roads

Something you might not know about me: I wanted to be on the radio since the 5th grade.

Favorite Book (Besides the Bible): Quiet Strength by Tony Dungy. He has always stayed true to who the Lord wants and needs him to be.

Favorite Movie: This one is very hard. I’ve never really had a “go to” movie. I like romantic comedies, not a fan of mob movies.

Favorite TV Show: Sunday Morning on CBS. The best 90 minutes on television every week.

Tell us about your family: I’ve been married to my college sweetheart Tricia since 1988 (celebrated 25 years in 2013). She’s the biggest blessing God has ever given me. We have two children, a daughter Sam who graduated from Ohio U in 2013 and now lives in Cleveland (my hometown!), and a son Jake who is in high school.

Do you have any pets? Buddy. A very energetic, muscular, 75-pound lap dog who we are told will someday “calm down.” We’ll let you know …

Karey

Karey Segler

Business & Facility Manager

How long have you worked in radio:  I’ve been at Proclaim FM since September of 2013, but my background is accounting and teaching.

Tell us about your family:  My wife Jeanne and I have been married since June of ’87.  I have a daughter Kara who is a senior at the University of Toledo, majoring in education, with an emphasis in 6th-9th grade science. I’m grateful for the family God has blessed me with.  And we have a dog named “Snuggles.”  It wasn’t my idea to get the dog.  But he’s a great dog.

What are your favorite Bible teaching programs:  I enjoy Turning Point with Dr. David Jeremiah, Insight for Living with Chuck Swindoll, and Truth for Life with Alistair Begg.

Favorite music:  I don’t really listen to a lot of music, though I do sing on our worship team with my wife.

Something others might not know about you:  I turned around at a police blockade…and they pursued me.  And then they put me in the paddywagon and “detained” me and kept me until they determined I wasn’t a menace to society.  A local bank had actually been robbed, and they were looking for the suspect.

Favorite books:  The Bible above all.

Favorite movies:  Oh man. “The Mission”.  Unbelievable in terms of the power of its message.  “The Green Mile”, “Shawshank Redemption”, “Hoosiers”…all good ones.  “Remember the Titans”.  “Saving Private Ryan.” Off the top of my head.

Favorite TV shows:  I don’t watch a lot of TV these days.  Going back though:  “The Cosby Show”, “Highway to Heaven”…a lot of good principles in that show.

Favorite foods:  I’ll eat anything as long as its presentable, and edible.  But I’ll say lasagna, turkey.

Pet peeves:  Selfishness.
